Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Traditional sclerotherapy consist of injecting the reticular veins and small surface varicose veins using eyesight. The use of optical enhances including special lights increased the ability to see small veins under the skin. Even with these enhancements often larger tributary veins off of the great saphenous, small saphenous or perforating veins were not easily treated. Dr. Magnant has been trained in the use of diagnostic ultrasound to be able to visualize the underlying vein tributaries allowing for better treatment.
